The ever-advancing techno- logical environment in the maritime world forms the context within which marine surveyors must operate; but marine surveyors work ashore only when their services are required. Their work is restricted to the opportunities they receive based on their skills, competencies, market conditions, associated budgets, and geographical identification. How then to ensure that the members keep their skills sharp?
Solution
eDOT designed & developed the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) program for the International Institute of Marine Surveying (IIMS), UK. Consisting of a mobile app & an admin web-console, the professional members of the IIMS are encouraged to pursue the program by taking courses, engage in prescribed activities, attend conferences and in-return earn commensurate points, thus enabling them to maintain their knowledge base, standards, and relevant competency levels.
The IIMS CPD app (available on Play Store and App Store) enables members to view their up-to-date CPD score, simplifies the process of claiming points, keeps them posted about upcoming IIMS events, displays current IIMS CPD Points table, facilitates contact with the IIMS CPD admin for assistance, and displays IIMS CPD news as in-app notifications.
